Fall Fringe Scarf

Fringe is hot this year! It was everywhere this Summer and it continues to be popular this Fall. So how can you add fringe to your Fall wardrobe?

How about a super easy game day scarf?!

I saw a similar scarf a few weeks ago for $88…that’s seriously out of my budget and ridiculous if you ask me. I mean its a t-shirt cut up…I can do that! And for a lot less then $88!!

So I went to my closet on the hunt for a shirt to cut up. I happen to have an old OU shirt that doesn’t fit so well anymore and thought it would be perfect for game day!

Off to find the scissors!

Any size shirt will do for this project but I highly recommend anything medium or larger. If you choose a shirt size large and up you can double it over for an added layer effect!

Follow these easy steps:
1. Find shirt
2. Cut shirt at the arm pits
3. Cut the bottom hem off
3. Cut 1″ wide strips in 3″ lengths
4. Pull gently on strips to curl the ends
5. Wear!

20130923-160240.jpg

Welcome to Fall everyone!
Looking for some easy and nutritious pumpkin recipes?
I’ve have a smoothie recipe you can make in no time flat!

Here is what you need:
– protein powder of your choice (We use MonaVie RVL vanilla shake mix)
– Milk of your choice
– 2-3 big scoops of puréed pumpkin (canned is just fine)
– Pumpkin Pie spice
– blender and ice

Mix all ingredients into blender or cup for hand mixer and blend until smooth.
You may add some agave syrup if you prefer a sweeter smoothie, I like mine without.

Then enjoy your healthy sweet treat cuddled on the porch in the nice cool weather.

OK…so I received this AWESOME product in the Summer called ZipZicle.

What is a ZipZicle?

ZipZicle is a plastic tube that is designed for making homemade Popsicles, yogurt snacks, and much more! It is 100% BPA-free and completely recyclable! You can even freeze and resuse each pouch! They are leak proof, portable, and FUN TO MAKE!

These little tubes allow you to create allergy FREE, preservative FREE and artificial food FREE snacks for you and your kids!

Pretty awesome right?!

There are so many different ways you can use these unique little tubes.

Although I was over the moon with this product I had one major issue.  Our family doesn’t eat Popsicles.

So how could I get ZipZicles  to benefit us?

I thought and thought. Then FINALLY one morning it hit me!

Protein Popsicle!

My husband and I drink protein shakes at least once a day. Sometimes those shakes are bit heavy and I don’ get a chance to finish mine. So I thought….What if I took the shake and made ZipZicles!

An easy way to get a protein snack throughout my day without drinking an entire shake.

Making these portable protein shakes has been wonderful for me when I need a quick protein snack after a workout or while running errands. These make wonderful snack ideas for kids lunch boxes or on the drive to school!

Super easy to make and even more delicious to eat! Here is what I did:

1. Mix your favorite protein with a milk of your choice

( I use Spiru-Tein because it is Dairy Free and Brooklyn can drink it too) rvl-shakes-02

(Hubby uses MonaVie RVL protein which is DELICIOUS! You can get it here!)

2. Add fruit to your protein mix ( I added some fresh strawberries too)

One the go granola – Add your favorite granola into the tube and throw in your purse or diaper bag for an on-the-go snack

Blueberry Chia Seed Pops (We use agave instead of honey)
